Team Spotlight: Bill Lally and Kurt Jones

In the new online / virtual world, cultivating and maintaining relationships with local government officials is significantly more challenging, and experience working in government is more meaningful now than ever. Having “walked in someone’s shoes” often result in a deeper level of understanding and congruency. Additionally, the perspective of government officials on community interaction is unique, and experience within that realm is especially critical to success in today's world of limited and overwhelmingly virtual interaction.

Tiffany & Bosco's Land Use and Zoning team brings that experience and perspective to the table for their clients. Bill Lally, Land Use and Zoning practice group leader, and Senior Planner Kurt Jones both utilize their years of experience working in the public sector to help their clients maneuver through the zoning process. Prior to law school and beginning his career as a zoning attorney, Bill worked for a number of local governments including the State of Arizona and the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. At the County, Bill worked with zoning attorneys and the community to help assist the Board of Supervisors in "threading the needle" in regard to the politics of zoning cases. Prior to joining Bill and his team over 10 years ago, Kurt spent nearly a decade at the City of Scottsdale, finishing his tenure at the City as the Planning Director. Kurt worked on hundreds of cases in Scottsdale during that time, from the emergence of the Loop 101 employment corridor to counting flies related to an equestrian use request.

This extensive experience has made Bill and Kurt rarities among the other zoning groups in town, and their prior government backgrounds have proven to be more useful today than ever before.
