The City of Surprise is in the midst of evaluating an addition to its impact fee program. The new transportation impact fee under consideration would facilitate necessary transportation improvements that have been identified throughout the City, specifically in three service areas delineated as South, North and West. Priority improvements have been identified in each of the three service areas, and the proposed fees would vary across these service areas dependent upon the needs identified.
The proposed fees for each service area are:
South - $5,061 North - $5,429 West - $6,877
The tentative schedule for adoption of the new fees is as follows:
April 6, 2021 Public Hearing on draft Land Use Assumptions and Infrastructure Improvement Plan
May 18, 2021 Adoption of Land Use Assumptions and Infrastructure Improvement Plan
May 19, 2021 Advertise public notice of the proposed impact fee
August 17, 2021 Public Hearing on the proposed impact fee
September 21, 2021 Adoption of impact fee
December 6, 2021 Impact fee takes effect
